THE BACK STORY
Ausnep Australia is an  Australian registered tax deductible charity, providing a health link between Australia and Nepal.  Established as a not for profit in 2008, acquiring  charity status in 2015.

With a mission statement to provide  free  remote public health camps, which includes dental treatments, ultra sound guided pain management, physiotherapy and hand therapy, education sponsorship programs, sustainability programs, natural disaster relief (2015) and women’s health programs.  To  date Ausnep has hosted 29 camps and a multitude of  subsidiary programs.

There is no free health care in Nepal.  With a  population  of 31,240,315, many have little  to no mean to access health care.  People living below the poverty line varies from 19 - 40% depending on their location, earning around $2.15 US per day.
Nepal does not have a sustainable foundation to elevate people above the poverty line.  Whilst there has been a decline in poverty rate, this can be attributed to the inflow of remittances, (family members go abroad to send money home)  this has boosted household consumption,”  economist Govinda Nepal.  However, “Remittance is not a stable source of earning. As long as the migrant workers earn and send money, dependent families can spend. But their consumption may be affected when the migrants return home,” said Nepal. (Fourth Standard of Living Survey, Sept 2023)

Ausnep has a strong and credible 17 year reputation of truly - helping where it matters.  Our aim is to keep making small steps toward a big future.

To meet the challenges of our times, human beings will have to develop a greater understanding of universal responsibility.  Each of us must learn to work not just for his or her own self, family or nation, but for the benefit of all……His Holiness the xivth dalai lama
97% of all monies raised directly helps the people of Nepal.
